Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology Thiruvananthapuram was founded in 2009 by the Indira Charitable Trust, Thiruvananthapuram, which provides a wide range of business and social services in higher education, hospitality and tourism, construction and information technology over many years. Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology Thiruvananthapuram began its journey with four bachelor of technology programmes in 2009 and by now it offers many more courses.
The college is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and accredited by AICTE New Delhi. RIET offers accredited NBA programmes and will now be accredited by the NAAC.
Under its eight academic departments, Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology courses provide UG, PG, and diploma degrees in engineering and technology, as well as management. RIET admissions applications can be completed both online and offline.

- The student is needed to be an Indian citizen.

Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology campus also known as 'Rajadhani Hills' was set up with the aim of providing modern facilities to its students. The automation of the library is done using LINWAYS software which assists all internal functioning of the library. The barcode-based circulation system is used in the library. All books have barcodes in the library and laser barcodes are used on the shipping counter. Students can use their ID to borrow books.
